Why operators are hesitating

The hesitation isn't really about the robots' mechanics. It comes down to return on investment and freight efficiency. Automated Storage and Retrieval Systems (AS/RS) and conveyor-based automation already deliver predictable, high-speed sorting at a fraction of the capital cost. Humanoid platforms, at this stage, carry high price tags, slow cycle times, and a real risk of bottlenecks at the one place fast freight consolidation cannot afford them: the loading dock.

Keep attention on what already moves the needle

None of that means the technology should be ignored, only that it isn't yet an operational fix. 3. Protect shipment visibility. Advance shipping notices and milestone tracking are only as reliable as the data feeding them, whether a robot or a person handled the freight.
4. Tie technology spending to transit reliability. An investment that doesn't shorten dwell time or tighten delivery windows hasn't earned its keep yet.
